For Robert, art has always been a part of life. Growing up with a father who was a tattoo artist, he was introduced to the world of tattooing at an early age. With a lifelong passion for drawing and creativity, it was his friend Tino who encouraged him to follow in his father's footsteps, carrying on a family tradition while turning his love for artwork into something more.
Robert got his first tattoo at eighteen, further connecting him to an art form that had surrounded him for much of his life. What he enjoys most about tattooing isn't just the artwork itself, but the people behind it. He loves getting to know his clients, hearing their stories, and helping them bring their own artistic expressions to life.
While Robert is eager to explore and learn a variety of tattoo styles, his greatest passion lies in black and grey realism. With a strong appreciation for detail, depth, and lifelike imagery, he's committed to continually developing his skills. His long-term ambition? To become one of the best black and grey realism artists in South Dakota.
As an apprentice at Starry Eyes Tattoo, Robert embraces every opportunity to learn, grow, and refine his craft alongside fellow artists.
When it comes to advice for anyone considering a tattoo, Robert believes in individuality. He encourages people to think for themselves, choose artwork that genuinely speaks to them, and never feel pressured to follow someone else's vision.
For Robert, great artwork speaks for itself, and every tattoo is an opportunity to create something personal, meaningful, and lasting.
