Hey, I'm Tino

Valentino “Tino” Brewer is an artist whose story is deeply rooted in culture, resilience, and creativity. Originally from Sacramento, California, Tino was drawn to tattooing at a young age through both his environment and his lifelong passion for art. Growing up surrounded by heavily tattooed family, friends, and community members, tattoo culture naturally became a part of who he was. By the age of 15, Tino had already begun his journey into tattooing, turning his artistic ability into a craft that would eventually become his career and passion.

When Tino’s mother made the decision to relocate their family to South Dakota in pursuit of a better life and greater opportunities for her children, it marked a major turning point in his life. Carrying both his California roots and his artistic vision with him, Tino continued sharpening his skills and developing a style that reflects both tradition and personality.

Today, Tino is known for his love of Chicano black and grey tattooing, smooth grey wash work, detailed calligraphy, and the occasional splash of bold “razzle-dazzle” color. His work combines clean composition, strong contrast, and expressive detail to create tattoos that feel personal, timeless, and full of character. Whether he’s creating script pieces, black and grey portraits, or custom artwork inspired by Chicano culture, Tino approaches every tattoo with authenticity and creativity.

Beyond the tattoo machine, Tino is a family man at heart. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his children, drawing, and fishing whenever he gets the chance. Those moments away from the studio help fuel the laid-back energy and welcoming atmosphere he brings into every session.

One of the things clients appreciate most about Tino is the experience of sitting in his chair. He believes tattoos should be more than just artwork — they should be memorable experiences built around connection, comfort, and good energy. If there’s one thing he encourages every client to do before their appointment, it’s to come relaxed and ready for good conversation, laughs, and an enjoyable session at Starry Eyes Tattoo.

For Tino, tattooing is not just about putting ink on skin. It’s about creating lasting art, building relationships, and giving people something meaningful they can carry with them for life.
